ABOUT MY WORK

My work as a weaver is characterized by three features that are nearly always present: a dyeing process that is often anarchic, a strict vertical/horizontal composition, and a story that arises out of concrete facts or requirements, dictated by necessity, need, or chance – terms prescribed by someone other than myself.

This allows me some distance on the works and a dynamic of resistance that is productive.

It also provides an additional excuse for placing yet another warp on the loom.

It might start with a floor plan, a road network, a mathematical formula, a distance travelled, or a collection of model cars.

And in this instance: four places in Mid-Jutland.

The things that are proximate, the things that engage me – are put through the interpretative wringer of textile creation.
